The hundred against South Australia in the Sheffield Shield match could open the door for Victoria’s Brad Hodge to replace the injured Phil Jaques in Australia’s ongoing Test series against India. Shaun Marsh and Luke Pomersbach are also in fray to replace Jaques. Cricket Australia’s chairman of selectors Andrew Hilditch is expected to make an announcement before the end of the second test.
